It's just taken me a week to get over it... Yeah, that's it.
Anyhoo,it was a cool experience. First cool thing was getting to meet SpiffyFox in real life. You know, I kinda expected him to act somewhat differently face to face, but no. I was a bit surprised that he actually said things like "yesh" and "spiffers" and introduced himself to people as "Fox" but it was easy to get used toand I'm sure I had my eccentricities as well. We stayed up late drawing and playing old pixelised computer games. We also drew a couple of pictures where I would draw for five minutes then he would draw for five minutes, and we kept switching back and forth. The results were great, and it was interesting how nothing seemed to end up as we first thought. So that was all cool.
The other cool thing was re-mix. The speaker was an Australian named Mike Frost. He was a very dynamic speaker, and an excellent storyteller, he spoke for about three hours in the morning and everyone was on the edge of thier seats the whole time. He spoke on a number of things that have been bothering me recently, such as how worship has become human orientated, how we need to stop trying to draw people into the Church as if that is the only place one can meet and experience God, how we need to connect with people on thier own level through similar interests, how the purest form of worship is serving others and we need others to accompany us on our mission.
After Dinner at one of those really authentic Mexican resturaunts, run by really authentic Mexican resturants, run by really authentic Mexican people, complete with the Spanish language telivision playing weird game shows in the background, we headed back for re-mix the night.
Andy Hunter is a really good DJ. There was one point in the evening he got so caught up in worship that he let a record run to the end, but other than that everything went off without a hitch. The break was probably good anyway.
I danced, and for those of you who know me, you know that while I might do a killer Steve Irwin or Elvis Presly impersonation, I don't dance in public. But I did, so there.
Any road, it was an awesome weekend, and I'd like to thank my parents, my grandparents, Spiffy, Barry, Art, Calvin, and the whole of YFC and Andy Hunter and Mike Frost, and anyone else I've forgotten.
God bless you all.

No seriously, It might seem like the game is trying to beat you, but every single bogey, pitfall, trap and obstacle is there to improve you, to make you better at the game. Then there's the good things, powerups and collectibles. They're actually more common than the bad things but they don't draw as much attention to themselves. They too make you stronger, but their effect is more superficial and short-lived. What really helps is the progressively more difficult obstacles in your way.|W|P|113744115741961560|W|P||W|P|starflier@gmail.com1/12/2006 09:54:00 AM|W|P|Starflier|W|P|Christmas dies hard in our house. I say this 'cause we only just yesterday took down our tree. We did move it from our living room after New Years, but it's been in the kid's playroom since then. But yesterday Mom and Jesse undecorated, and I was asked to unassemble it. All the decorations have been officially packed away, much to the chagrin of our cat, who has gotten into the habit of climbing up into the tree and batting the decorations down to play with. She's still managed to find some to play with though...
Christmas is still hanging in there though, Mom left all the stuffed animals out this year, and I've got a poinsettia in my room, And Jesse's Christmas Carol Singing Train is still chugging around off it's track, getting stuck behind things. And I still feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside.
I guess it all goes to show how much of a sap I am.|W|P|113709427791636063|W|P||W|P|starflier@gmail.com1/07/2006 07:16:00 PM|W|P|Starflier|W|P|If you ever find your way to downtown Powell River, Rene's Two for One Pasta is definitely a restaurant that you should check out. At first glance it appears to be just another pasta place, but the food is actually really good. I mean really good. I mean, homemade pasta and fresh-baked focaccia bread good.
So yeah, go there.|W|P|113669506271576899|W|P||W|P|starflier@gmail.com
